COVID-19 Information, Precautions and Guidance

The safety of our patients and staff has always been and remains our top priority. We are now enduring a dangerous phase of this pandemic as the COVID-19 virus surges across the state and our state is experiencing reduced resources available to hospitals and patients, such as medical supplies, equipment and personnel.

While we have been actively monitoring and responding to all recommendations made by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the California Department of Public Health since the onset of COVID-19 — and have implemented extraordinary measures and additional protocols to help ensure a safe and clean environment for our patients, physicians, staff and community — the sustained public health emergency necessitates all California hospitals to define and implement Crisis Standards of Care. Utilizing established best practices and guided by ethical principles and a commitment to equity, this guidance provides a framework to help healthcare providers plan for and make critical decisions. It aims to ensure that, despite being faced with a crisis situation, we are able to continue to provide healthcare services in a coordinated and thoughtful manner, using an established framework, procedures and guidance.

Critical Care Resource Plan

We are doing everything we can to avoid reaching extreme crisis; however, our greatest immediate hope in this hard-fought battle against this virus is that citizens will heed the advice of our trusted public health leaders: physical distancing, limiting our gatherings, wearing masks, and respecting the guidance of our healthcare workers. By doing so, you are saving lives — and you are helping our teams be there for their families, as well.

Thank you for entrusting your care to us. When you or your loved ones need services, know that we are here to deliver a superior healthcare experience.

Emergency Department – Do Not Delay in Seeking Critical Care

Our Emergency Department is staffed 24/7 to serve those with emergency medical conditions. Individuals experiencing serious injuries or medical symptoms such as chest pain, numbness, difficulty breathing or mental confusion should call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency department. It could save your life.

We have an additional layer of protection with the utilization of UV light technology that kills germs once a room is unoccupied. Curtains and doors are kept closed and patients are separated based on symptoms.

Individuals Experiencing COVID-19 Symptoms

If you develop a fever or cough or have difficulty breathing, or have had close contact with someone who has had a confirmed positive COVID-19 test result, please seek medical attention by calling your provider’s office or an Urgent Care Center.

If you need help deciding if you should seek medical care, access the CDC Coronavirus Self-Checker on the CDC COVID-19 Symptoms page by clicking on the Coronavirus Self-Checker button at the top of the page.

Hospital Services and Programs

The hospital is fully operational. We are monitoring for symptoms in patients and implementing isolation protocols, if needed.

Most community health education programs offered by the hospitals in the near term have been canceled or postponed; please follow the hospital on Facebook for updates.

Telehealth

For your convenience and safety, virtual visits via Telehealth technology are available to address many non-emergency health concerns. Virtual visits allow you to speak with a healthcare provider using a phone, tablet or computer from the comfort of your own home.

Elective Procedures

Our surgery teams are working with physician offices to accommodate the scheduling of surgeries and procedures that were postponed due to COVID-19 or that may have recently become a health priority. If you are scheduled for a procedure, please confirm with your doctor that it remains on schedule. Please see the Visitation section below for information on visitors dropping off and picking up patients for outpatient surgery.

If you have a surgery scheduled, please watch this video for important information:
